Maternity Africa is a local charity in Ethiopia supported by The Barbara May Foundation in Australia. Maternity Africa seeks to support health services in the developing world to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.
Barry and Robin Hicks
Barry was granted his fellowship with the College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 1967. After 6 months in India he went to Ethiopia and over the years and in 3 periods worked there for sixteen years. He has been appointed the Associate Professor of Surgery at Arba Minch and been asked to consider being the Director of the Department of Surgery and has agreed to sign until the end of July 2014. He is married to Robin, the mother of their 5 children. They also have an adopted Ethiopian son.
CARE Ethiopia undertakes a range of programs addressing food security and nutrition, water and sanitation, pastoralist and natural resource management, sexual and reproductive health, civil society strengthening, HIV and AIDS, basic education, and emergency programming in both farming and pastoralist communities.

Hamlin Fistula® Australia Limited is the authorised Australian representative of the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia. It administers the Hamlin Fistula® Relief and Aid Fund which is a registered Australian charity with tax deductible status. The Hamlin Fistula® Relief and Aid Fund is the only charity in Australia solely dedicated to supporting the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital.
Serving in Mission
Community health work with people in mobile settlements is a physical and emotional challenge due to remoteness, severity of climate and type of people. The health program provides a great evangelistic tool in its outreach program to the Mursi in the grasslands out into the Omo Valley.
